2013 Chevrolet Malibu Comes Into Focus
General Motors has leaked one photo of the all-new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu online. The photo gives us a glimpse of the new sedan ahead of its official debut at the Shanghai Motor Show this month.
When it’s unveiled, GM will broadcast the event online in high-definition video. GM says that it’s the first automaker to stream a vehicle unveiling in HD over the Internet. The broadcast will also be seen on the automaker’s social networking and media sites, and it will be viewable on iPad and iPhone personal mobile devices.
“We are expanding the reach beyond mainstream product introductions typically seen at auto shows. We are using the latest technologies available to us like no other automaker has done before to introduce this all-new, important car for Chevrolet on continents around the world,” said Russ Clark, product director at Chevrolet. “Broadcasting in HD will help us make sure the world gets a good look at the all-new Malibu.”
The Chevrolet Malibu is truly a global model, as it’s sold in nearly 100 countries. The next-generation is expected to be a major improvement, as it’s equipped with fuel-efficient and powerful four-cylinder engines, along with six-speed transmissions that also contribute to efficient performance.
Currently, the Malibu is one of Chevy’s best-selling products. In addition to racking up nearly 200,000 sales last year, the Malibu has also been bestowed with numerous awards including:
- Consumers Digest Automotive “Best Buy” award
- “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
- Named “Best For The Money” by U.S. News & World Report
